Meet Our General Manager – Sarah Boyd!

KCS is happy to introduce our Kanata Manager Sarah Boyd. In her short time with us Sarah has already made a great impression on our KCS Team Members and Families.

Sarah has been involved in the swim world for most her life. She was a competitive swimmer for 15 years including time on the UOttawa Varsity team. Through her competitive swimming she was also introduced to lifeguarding and worked as a lifeguard/swim instructor for 8 years. During this time, she started competing in lifeguarding competitions and had the amazing opportunity to represent Canada at the 2013 Commonwealth Games in Australia. While busy with her own lifeguarding Sarah also coached Masters Swimming from 2007 to 2022. Her focus on swimming technique for health, efficiency, and longevity helps promote swimming and athletics for life. If any KCS parents are interested Sarah is currently coaching at Kanata Surfers.

Sarah was drawn to the KCS family because of the fun, safe environment where children can fall in love with water and learn how to keep themselves and friends safe around it. Swimming opens up so many doors for children in terms of sports, recreation, holidays and more! Sarah believes that not learning to swim would be a shame because you’ll miss out on so many activities in Canada’s great outdoors.

Fun Fact: Sarah’s dog can swim 400 meters in under 7 minutes (That passes the National Lifeguard swim requirement)!!
